I've been in the Cabinet Making Trade for 30 years. I was in College as a music major and quickly realized this was not the path for me. My instrument was the Classical Guitar. My talents were not well enough to be a concert master, but I was always good with my hands. In high school I received the Bank of America Achievement Award for the best Industrial Arts Student at San Ramon High. As I said I washed out as a performer. Overtime I realized I could repair my Friends guitars and decided to become to a classical guitar maker. I did some research and found out that some of the European masters were cabinetmakers first, so I figured I would start at the basics and learn the trade. Fortunately the man I apprenticed under knew it all. Roy Ader was born into the trade and lived it all his life. We dug ditches, poured foundation, framed walls, built Kitchens, made doors and windows, we made everything. I received an over the top education in wood work. I was very lucky; he was one of the last of the Mohicans.

I started my own business at the age of 24, ready to take on the world. Now 26 years later I am still "doin what I am doin". Making anything that can be drawn on paper.
